Car Hire Terms & Conditions

General Terms

The Rental Agreement comprises these terms and conditions and the rental document setting out the hire details which is provided with each vehicle at the point of hire (referred to in these terms and conditions as the “Rental Document”). The Rental Agreement is made between AmmosCars (here in referred to as “the owner”) and the person and/or company signing the Rental Document (here in referred to as “the hirer”) whose particulars are recorded in the Rental Document. It is hereby agreed as follows:

 

1.Age Requirement:
Driver must be a  minimum  of 23 years of age at the time of the rental for car Categories  Β. For all other car Categories  minimum driver’s age is 25 years.
Renters aged older than 72 years old have to purchase “Senior Citizen’s Insurance” (Currently costs 20 €, for the whole period of the rental)
2. Driver’s license:
A valid driving licence held for at least one year is required. Driving licences issued in any country-member of the European Union are acceptable. Driving licences issued in countries not members of the European Union have to be accompanied by a valid International Driver’s Permit (IDP). *AmmosCars withholds the right to cancel a car rental booking if no or not the appropriate driving license(s) is/are shown on the first day of rental without being liable for any kind of compensation to the renter.
3.Second Driver:
Adding a second driver is free of charge, just inform us on advance
4. Insurance:

AmmosCars rates include a package of insurance (standard auto cover) as follows:
Liability insurance to Third Party death, injury and property up to 1,300,000.00 euro.
For fire /explosion
Coverages are subject to General Terms of the AmmosCars insurance contract with its insurer.
AmmosCars Help
All AmmosCars vehicles are covered with road assistance 24 hour a day 7 days a week valid only
in Kefalonia Island, by calling the number – 2130904363.
For any damage or theft, or fire caused by fault / negligence of the renter, violation of the traffic law,
alcohol and narcotics use, or driving to inappropriate roads, the renter is responsible to the total market
value of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
The renter’s liability for damage to the rented vehicle can be reduced to the amount of 700 euro
of rental categories A and B, 900 euro of rental categories D and C and 1300 euro of rental
category E.
Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW)
Renters wanting to be exempt from the above amounts shall pay an additional fee of 10 euro per
day for categories A and B, and 15 euro per day for all other categories.
The above insurance does not cover damages caused by violations of the traffic law code, and
damages to the wheels, tires, mirrors under the body and inside the car.

5. Taxes:
  • All rates include 24% V.A.T.
  • All fines and administrative penalties are charged to the lessee.
  • Prices and terms of rental can be changed without notice.
  • The Greek Courts are competent to resolve any disputes arising therefrom.
6. Fuel:
The Renter is obliged to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as it had when collected. In the case of returning the vehicle with less fuel, the renter will be charged with the fuel difference. No refunds are issued for vehicles returned with more fuel than when collected.
7. Infringement management costs:
Lessees shall be responsible for the payment of fines that may result from RTC violations during the rental of the car. If they are not paid by the lessee and an intervention of AmmosCars required for their payment, there will be a charge of € 50 over the cost of the violation responsibility (Infringement Costs).
8: Mileage restrictions:

“AmmosCars” offer “Free mileage” from the first day! No mileage restrictions!

9. Delivery /Collection:
Free at the airport, (within office hours 09.00 to 20.00)and in radius of  15 km around. For deliveries/collections in longer distances (or for out of office hours) the extra cost will be shown at the price analysis of your booking.
10. Rental extension:
Lessees wishing to keep the rented vehicle longer than the period already agreed, should contact “AmmosCars” where the vehicle was picked up in writing to indicate the extension of the rental and sign the new Rental Agreement.
11. Cancellation Policy:
When you make a reservation you will be asked to submit your credit card number through our secure server. Your credit card number will be kept for guarantee. The reservation will be confirmed through a reply e-mail. We will charge 25% of the total sum to your credit card and that amount will be kept as a deposit.
In the event of cancelling 3 days or more prior to your arrival date, no cancellation penalties will be incurred and the deposit will be returned.
For any cancellations made less than 3 days prior to your arrival date we will use the
25% as a penalty charge.
The remaining payment amounts will be processed in Greece at Cephalonia by AmmosCars upon your arrival.
12. Ferrying the car:
An advance written authorization from “AmmosCars”, is required. In the case of rental between islands, the lessees are required to return the vehicle to the pickup branch, otherwise all the transport costs shall be charged to them. In case of mechanical damage or accident, lessees are obliged to transfer the car at their own expense. During the transport of the car by boat, the insurance cover does not apply.
13. Car interior:
If the vehicle is returned with stains requiring biological cleaning (e.g. hair, sand, etc. on the seats or on the floor, in the trunk etc.), the lessee is charged with the amount of 100 €. In case of damage caused by the lessee (e.g. burns) there shall be a corresponding charge depending on the damage.
14. Loss or destruction of a key:
In case of loss or destruction of a key during the rental period, lessees shall have to pay the amount of 80 € for categories A & B and € 150 for categories C,D,E.
15. Plate removal:
In the event of plates being removed during the rental period, lessees shall be charged for rental until the collection of the plates from the competent authority.
16. Payment methods:
“AmmosCar” accept payments either in cash (€) or by credit card(Visa or Mastercard) & Debit cards. The estimated total cost of the car hire is payable at the beginning of the rental.
17. Reservations/Availability:
All bookings and reservations are made by car Group and not by car model . “AmmosCars ” reserves the right to change car model to an equivalent model or to upgrade model  in exceptional cases.
NOTE TO HIRER
NOTE – THE OWNER MUST GIVE THE HIRER AT LEAST ONE COPY OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT WHICH MUST BE KEPT IN THE VEHICLE THROUGHOUT THE TERM OF THE HIRE AND PRODUCED ON DEMAND TO AN ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
